We took the vision of a local mother & community leader and ran with it to build Eastern Kenya’s first specialist secondary school for the deaf ! !
This formative project was the first that bought our top collaborators Peter Macnaughton & Luke Moran together. Working together with a team of UK volunteers assembled by Peter & Ali Mbugua they supported a local team and fundraised, designed, and helped build the key facilities of the school.
The school now has capacity of over 100 students and the numbers attending are steadily rising. Of the first group that finished their schooling there some have gone on into farming, adminterial work and one is studying medicine.
